Non-Typical

So, tonight is non-typical. I am home by 9 o'clock, enjoying a glass of wine with my dogs and my husband is on his way to go fishing.

Typically, we are at our wine tasting, then off to dinner with stimulating conversation with friends. We end the day staggering home from yet another week of exhausting, yet fun, work.

Tomorrow, as if you want to know, I am getting a pedicure (yummy), then off to tan (hmmm, artificial sun), finally, buying a shower gift for a friend's future daughter-in-law's shower on Sunday hosted by my mom and her best friend. How exciting to share with someone the joy of where we were a year ago about this time. I can't believe its been a year! I would marry Craig EVERY LIVE LONG SATURDAY NIGHT for the rest of my life! I loved our wedding! (that is a total unpublishable blog entry).

More on my exhausting, but fun, work week. So, Monday night I found myself in the great city of NOLA! (for those of you not in the KNOW that is New Orleans, Louisiana). we drove by Tent City after driving ON the Highway bridges that were shown on the news during 'The Storm.' My heart sank, chills ran across me, Tent City is a sight to be seen. Several people and families living under the highway for miles long in tents! IN TENTS!! Well, the entire city of NO was familiar yet foreign territory. The last time I visited The Quarter was 1999 - ALMOST 10 YEARS!! NEVER in my life would I have thought I would be away from my mother's home for 1o years!

Never fear, dad was there! We met for dinner and had a blast - during th eday he visited our old houses and my grandfather's home plus the property he and my mom purchased (no pun intended) at the beginning of their marriage. I wonder how different I would have turned out if I had been raised (actually RAISED in NOLA).

Anyway, my favorite part is daddy looking at me on Bourbon Street and saying, "never in my life would I have ever thought WE would be together walking Bourbon St." Good ole dad - never say never!!

Spirits

Todays spirits: Corona Light, Bud Light, Frozen on the rocks @ Uncle Julio's.

So I never thought

I would be a "blogger"sounds kinda dirty if you think about it really, a "blogger"as if I should be defined in some way.

Anyway, sitting on the patio with Craig and the dogs on a Thursday evening with the candles burning awaiting Friday so that we can enjoy at least one day of sleeping in, I feel compelled to become a "blogger."

More in this later. Now I must tend to the four legged child that I have to my right breathing heavily with a tennis ball in his mouth wanting me to play til he decides to stop.

Play ball, M
